Welcome to Watchman On The Walls Intercessory Ministry Intl.
"As it is the business of tailors to make clothes and of cobblers to mend shoes, so it is the business of Christians to pray." - Martin Luther
“Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints”. - Ephesians 6:18 KJV Prayer: Man's Noblest ExerciseHere is our simple offering of loaves and fishes - plain testimonies of the lives of Men and Women who lived on their knees and were known in Hell, whose preoccupation was predominantly the Noble Exercise of fervent prayer. Men who could not turn off the burden of the Holy Ghost, who demonstrated the Power of God in their lives and ministry through prayer.
[1]. I ought to pray before seeing anyone. Often when I sleep long or meet with others early. It is eleven or twelve o'clock before I begin secret prayer. This is a wretched system. It is unscriptural. Christ arose before day and went into a solitary place. David says: “Early will I seek thee, thou shalt early hear my voice”! Without prayer, the conscience feels guilty, the soul unfed and the lamp not trimmed. Then when in secret prayer the soul is often out of tune. I feel it is far better to begin with God, to see His face first, to get my soul near Him before it is near another. - Robert Murray McChehne.
[2]. One bright benison which private prayer brings down upon the Ministry is an indescribable and intimate something - an unction from the Holy one ........ if the anointing which we bear come not from the Lord of hosts, we are deceivers. Since only in prayer can we obtain it. Let us continue instant, constant, fervent in supplication. Let your Fleece lie on the thrashing-floor of supplication till it is wet with the dew of heaven. - C. H. Spurgeon.
[3]. Give me one hundred preachers who fear nothing but sin, and desire nothing but God, and I care not a straw whether they be clergy men or laymen; such alone will shake the gates of hell and set up the kingdom of Heaven on earth. God does nothing but in answer to prayer. - John Wesley.
[4]. If some Christians that have been complaining of their ministers had said and acted less before men and had applied themselves with all their might to cry to God for their ministers - had as it were risen and stormed heaven with their humble, fervent and incessant prayers for them - they would have been much more in the way of success. - Jonathan Edwards.
[5]. Before the great revival in Gallnenkirchen broke out, Martin Boos spent hours and days and often nights in lonely agonies of intercession. Afterwards, when he preached, his words were as flame and the hearts of the people as grass. - D. M. McIntyre, D. D.
[6]. The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayers of a righteous man makes tremendous Power available - dynamic in it's working. - James 5:16 (AMP).
[7]. The man who can get believers to praying would, under God, usher in the greatest revival that the world has ever known. There is no fault in God. He is able. God is able to do ..... according to the Power that worketh in us! - Leonard Ravenhill.
[8]. O brother, pray, in spite of satan, pray, spend hours in prayer, rather fast, and lose breakfast, dinner, tea, and supper - and sleep too - than not pray. And we must not talk about prayer, we must pray in right earnest. The Lord is near. He comes softly while the Virgins slumber.'I heard a call, "come follow", That was all.Earth's joy grew dim, my soul went after HIM,I rose and followed - That was all.If you hear His call? - Andrew A. Bonar. [9]. The prayer life must be fought for, - everything will militate against it. The world with its pressures and speed will give us no time; the flesh with its appetites and weaknesses will rob us of concentration; satan will concentrate his subtle powers to contend every inch of the prayer-route. The tide of battle turns in the closet; this is where the real warfare is accomplished. It is there satan is served with an authoritative notice to quit. - Duncan Campbell.
[10]. The potency of prayer hath subdued the strength of fire; it had bridled the rage of lions, hushed anarchy to rest, extinguished wars, appeased the elements, expelled demons, burst the chains of death, expanded the gates of heaven, assuaged diseases, repelled frauds, rescued cities from destruction, stayed the sun in its course, and arrested the progress of the thunderbolt. Prayer is an all efficient panoly, a treasure undiminished, a mine which is never exhausted, a sky unobscured by clouds, a heaven unruffled by the storm. It is the root, the fountain, the mother of a thousand blessings. - Chry Sostom.
[11]. I would rather teach one man to pray than ten men to preach. - Charles Spurgeon.
[12]. Prayer is not learned in a classroom but in the closet." - E. M. Bounds
“I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their Peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the Lord, keep not silence, and give him no rest, till he establish and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth. - God Almighty (Isaiah 62:6,7 KJV).
